Giving in his name

Sadaqah and sadaqah jariyah given in the name of Kamrul Islam, supporting communities in developing parts of the world.

In Remembrance
Kamrul Islam
October 1989 – October 2020
إِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un
To Allah we belong, and to Him we return.

This practice carries his name, in his memory. A man remembered for his sincerity and kindness, he met his Creator in October 2020.

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ
Allahumma-ghfir lahu warhamhu wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anhu
O Allah, forgive him, have mercy upon him, grant him well-being, and pardon him.

May every well dug, every masjid raised, and every good given in his name be a sadaqah jariyah that reaches him, and may Allah grant him the highest Firdaus. Ameen

Wording of the remembrance and du'a is presented for the scholar's confirmation.

From the Sunnah
Idha mata al-insanu inqata'a 'anhu 'amaluhu illa min thalathah: sadaqatin jariyah, aw 'ilmin yuntafa'u bihi, aw waladin salihin yad'u lah

“When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity, beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for them.”

Prophet Muhammad · Sahih Muslim

In memory of Kamrul Islam

Know the signs. Act FAST.

A stroke is a medical emergency. Knowing the signs can save a life. The quickest way to remember them is the word FAST.

F

Face

One side of the face may droop and it might be hard to smile.

A

Arms

The person may not be able to lift both arms and keep them there, because of weakness or numbness in one arm.

S

Speech

Speech may be slurred, the person may sound confused, or be unable to speak at all.

T

Time

If you see any single one of these signs, it is time to call for emergency help immediately.

Other warning signs can include sudden weakness or numbness down one side of the body, blurred vision or loss of sight in one or both eyes, difficulty speaking or finding words, confusion, dizziness or loss of balance, a sudden severe headache, or feeling sick. Signs can sometimes ease after a short time and you may think you are fine. Do not wait. Get medical help straight away.

If you suspect a stroke, do not wait for it to pass.

In the United Kingdom, dial 999 immediately. In any other country, call your local emergency service without delay. Do not drive to hospital yourself. Acting in the first minutes gives the best chance of survival and recovery.
